A rural village in West Sussex

As the year draws closer to an end the Westbourne Weekend crew are well under way with plans for next year. Just before we go into some of the details we have some good news.

We have a surplus in our funds and would like to contribute to some worthy causes around the village. If you think you have such a cause we are inviting applications of up to £150 each. Please send applications to westbourneweek@ymail.com.

A big “thank you” to Stanstead House for donating the village Christmas tree again this year. The WW crew with the assistance of lots of little helpers from around the village has sorted out the decorations and lights as well as doing the lights around the square. We would like to thank Beaver Tool Hire for the generous loan of a cherry picker that made this possible. Father Christmas has been drafted in for the traditional “turning on of the lights” which will take place from 6pm on December 4th. This is NOT the carols round the tree which is taking place on Saturday the 18th. The tree will be coming down on Monday the 3rd January. This is also the day to bring your Christmas tree to the square for recycling.

Looking further ahead to the warm summer months we are delighted to announce that “The Groove” is back on Saturday 25th June with the hotly contested Treasure Hunt on the Sunday. There will be more details in the coming months but be sure to put the dates in the diary.
